Assam CM Forms Committee of Eminent Artists to Guide Beautification of Khanapara Auditorium

DISPUR: In a significant move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with high-ranking officials of the state government's cultural department on Thursday, June 19, to discuss adding art to the five-thousand-seat auditorium under construction in Khanapara, Guwahati, at a meeting held at the Lok Seva Bhawan, Dispur.

A committee of 10 eminent artists from Assam's cultural world has been formed. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities to complete the construction of the auditorium with beautification within the stipulated time of the meeting.

Additionally, CM Sarma met citizens from all walks of life at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur. He patiently listened to their concerns and assured timely, people-centric solutions, reaffirming the government's commitment to inclusive development.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Nabagraha Crematorium last year in August, dedicating a part of the redevelopment and beautification project, including five chitas, at the premises of the crematorium to the public.

The Chief Minister also took stock of the ongoing redevelopment and beautification work being undertaken at the crematorium. The entire project was being carried out in three phases, which also included the state funeral arena. CM Sarma directed the PWD, the executing agency, to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe.
