DIGBOI: Assam Cabinet Minister Bimal Borah on Wednesday reviewed the implementation status of the Chief Minister’s key flagship welfare schemes at Margherita and Digboi in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

Borah, the Guardian Minister of Tinsukia district, during the meeting with the officials of the line departments including the Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner, minutely assessed the success ratio of the implementation of four flagship schemes including the Orunodoi 3.0, CMAAA, Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Asoni, and Mukhya Mantri Eti Kolu Duti Paat Asoni in two separate meetings.

The meeting was attended by MLA, Margherita LAC Bhaskar Sharma, District Commissioner Tinsukia, CDC I/C Margherita, other district officials, GP secretaries, and jeevika sakhis. The session focused on assessing progress and ensuring timely delivery of the benefits to the eligible citizens.

Underlining the ratio of implementation, Minister Borah assured that all the beneficiaries who had been left out due to technical issues would be included in the next phase.

Borah said that the pro-people schemes and projects of the BJP government had greatly improved and eased the lives of the people. He said that unlike the Congress government which never wanted people to be politically educated for securing their vote bank politics, the BJP government brought about a renaissance in the society allowing people to explore all the government avenues to be self-reliant. The execution of these schemes reflected the state’s commitment to inclusive development, although challenges remain in ensuring their efficient delivery and impact, he said.

Meanwhile, disparities in the distribution of various government benefits have often been reported from various locations of the district. Although the intent and design of schemes are robust, focused efforts on last-mile delivery, capacity building of local bodies, and addressing regional disparities are crucial for ensuring that the intended benefits reach every citizen.

It may be added here that the Government of Assam, in alignment with the policies of the Government of India, has implemented various welfare schemes aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of its citizens. The execution of government schemes in Assam has contributed significantly to poverty reduction, health improvement, and rural development.
