GUWAHATI: In a remarkable gesture of innovation and tradition, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented a unique gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inaugural event of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. The special memento, a rhino sculpture crafted from semiconductor chips, symbolizes Assam’s rich heritage while embracing modern technological advancements.

Chief Minister Sarma presented the gift to the Prime Minister as a symbol of the people's love and respect, making the occasion more memorable. This gesture honors Assam’s culture and natural beauty while also supporting India’s goal of technological self-reliance.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit 2025 today. The event aims to bring in investments, improve infrastructure, and promote Assam as an important economic hub in Northeast India.

The Prime Minister arrived in Assam a day earlier and visited exhibitions showcasing a wide range of investment opportunities in the state. His presence underscores the Centre’s commitment to accelerating economic growth in the region.

Several Union Ministers will attend the summit, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Ports and Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita is also among the distinguished dignitaries. Additionally, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will join virtually to discuss the government's infrastructure plans for Assam.
