GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the distribution of appointment letters for 4,587 government jobs, including regularized contractual teachers and Assistant Professors. The move is part of the government's ongoing commitment to providing jobs to the youth of Assam.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this initiative will improve the quality of education in the state. This initiative is in line with the government's promise to continue offering government job opportunities to Assam's young population.

Earlier this week, Assam's Education Minister Ranoj Pegu handed over appointment letters to 93 newly recruited assistant professors in state engineering colleges, marking a significant step in strengthening higher education in the state.

The recruitment, after a 7-year gap, aligns with the government's commitment to providing job opportunities. Minister Pegu emphasized that Assam has exceeded its promise of creating 1 lakh government jobs, reaching 1,15,000 jobs.

He urged the new faculty members to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and embrace technological advancements.

The recruitment drive aims to improve technical education and prepare industry-ready graduates. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's leadership has been pivotal in this ongoing effort to provide jobs across various sectors in Assam.

The appointment of these assistant professors is a key part of the government's initiative to enhance academic standards in the state’s engineering colleges.
