MORIGAON: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will lay the foundation stone of the much-awaited medical college at Baghara on December 8. The medical college will be built at a cost of Rs 650 crore, said State Water Resources and Information & Public Relation Minister Piyush Hazarika on Thursday.

He said that the Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone of three big projects - the Morigaon-Jagiroad connecting concrete bridge to be constructed with cost of Rs 75 crore over the River Kapili, Rs 100 crore has been allotted in the name of construction of roads under PWD and Rs 63 crore has been allotted in the name of the Water Resources department. Moreover, the minister informed that the Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone for re-construction of the ITI and the Polytechnic colleges in the district.

On the other hand, the minister instructed Deputy Commissioner Devashis Sarma to place an inquiry against the alleged scarcity of bandage, cotton and syringe in the Tilak Deka, Hemram Pator and Gunaviram Barua Hospital, Morigaon for which patients are facing a lot of problems.
