
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a conference with District Commissioners and Co-District Commissioners at Lok Sewa Bhawan on March 11 to review public welfare initiatives and governance strategies.
The primary objective of the conference was to assess the implementation of various budgetary announcements and to build upon the successes of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. CM Sarma stressed the necessity of a comprehensive government approach to ensure effective delivery of flagship programs to the public.
The Chief Minister focused on providing reasonable compensation to pregnant women employed in tea gardens for their well-being and care. The geotagging of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) houses was also stressed to improve monitoring and management effectiveness.
The conference also discussed matters concerning Mission Basundhara 3.0, with the intention of having a timely solution, and intend to streamline the Orunodoi and CM Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan schemes so that they can further empower women and entrepreneurship. Disbursement of five lakh gamosas to beneficiaries was the other key agenda.
Furthermore, CM Sarma discussed enhancing the role of Co-District Commissioners in improving service delivery and preparing for the upcoming Panchayat Elections. The conference was attended by Assam Cabinet Ministers Atul Bora, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Keshab Mahanta, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, and other senior officials, underscoring the collaborative effort to advance public welfare in the state.
