KAMRUP: Giving a boost to tourism in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Saraighat Lake Park in Amingaon, a vibrant recreational and ecological space dedicated to public service. The inauguration was done in the presence of Minister for Tourism Ranjeet Kumar Dass and other dignitaries.

Apart from a beautiful and serene environment, the park has various facilities, including water sports like jet skiing and boating. However, the project offers a much-needed spot for relaxation and leisure for the people.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said the objective behind the project was twofold: conserving the ecological significance of the wetland and transforming it into a vibrant tourist destination.

“We envisioned preserving the wetland while creating a thoughtfully designed structure to attract tourists. Today, we have unveiled a beautiful new zone around Saraighat Lake, and it’s already drawing considerable footfall. I’m extremely pleased with the progress,” CM Sarma said.

CM Sarma also lauded the efforts of the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) and expressed confidence that the area’s charm and tourism potential would grow even further in the coming days.

The park, developed with a blend of ecological sensitivity and modern design, is expected to become a prominent spot for both local visitors and travellers from outside the state.
