
NEW DELHI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, in Delhi on February 3, to discuss initiatives aimed at enhancing the state’s digital infrastructure. The meeting focused on the upcoming session, ‘I-Ways in Viksit Assam,’ which will be chaired by Scindia at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit.
The session is believed to bring together industry leaders and experts to create a plan for improving Assam’s digital infrastructure. The main goal is to build strong Information Highways that support equal development and boost the state’s technology progress.
In the lead-up to the summit, the Assam government has been actively promoting investment in sectors such as infrastructure, green energy, and manufacturing. Recently, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal held a roadshow in Kolkata to highlight Assam's growth, improved infrastructure, and investment opportunities. The event, leading up to the Advantage Assam summit, focused on the state's progress in green energy and its potential for future development.
Similarly, the Government of Assam, in collaboration with FICCI as the industry partner, had organized the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ roadshow in Hyderabad on January 23, 2025, at Hotel Taj Krishna. This event had been part of preparations for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025, which was scheduled for February 25-26 in Guwahati.
