GUWAHATI: A new road connecting National Highway 27 to Cycle Factory via Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati will be inaugurated today by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
CM Sarma, in a post on X, said that this road will ensure easy travel to the stadium. This comes at a good time as the Barsapara stadium will host two Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches in the final week of March.
The first game will be played on March 26 between Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders while there will be another match between Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings on March 30. Both these fixtures will be starting at 7:30 PM.
Notably, this will be the Chennai Super Kings' inaugural visit to Guwahati for an IPL match, while the Kolkata Knight Riders came to the ACA Stadium last season. Unfortunately, their match against the Royals was abandoned due to rain.
To prepare for the matches, a delegation of the Rajasthan Royals franchise comprising head coach Rahul Dravid and spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule have already toured Guwahati. A six-day training camp at the ACA Stadium was organized.
With the addition of enhanced infrastructure and the presence of its key players, the stage is all set for two enthralling cricket matches in the region as fans look forward to the action on the field.
