Assam couple embarks on bike expedition to promote tourism

PATHSALA: In a unique adventure, a young couple of Pathsala in Barpeta district has embarked on a biking journey across 13 States to promote the tourism potential of the State.

Rakesh Choudhury and Nitumani Talukdar will cover Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal and three Union Territories. They will cover a journey of total 8,500 km.

Locals have lauded their effort. The main theme of this journey is to spread the beauty of Assam across India. The couple will co-ordinate with the local riding clubs of the States which will arrange for their lodging. Before starting their journey, the couple was felicitated by various organizations at Pathsala in front of Hari Mandir on Thursday. Ananda Khataniar, brand ambassador of Forest and Environment department, flagged off the ride in presence of members of Luit Riders, Bajali Cycling Community, All Assam Students’ Union and the local people.
