TEZPUR: A meeting chaired by District Commissioner Ankur Bharali was held in the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur, to discuss preparations for the zonal level performance of Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir), scheduled to take place on February 4 at Church Field, Tezpur. Participants from Sonitpur, Biswanath and Nagaon districts will take part in this Zonal performance to be held in Sonitpur.
Welcoming all stakeholders, the District Commissioner extended his appreciation for the successful conduct of LAC-level training across all five LACs of the district, which is set to conclude on January 31. Bharali reviewed the key preparatory arrangements for the zonal event, including transport, food, field arrangements, medical teams, and other logistical aspects.
It was noted that for the zonal performance, a total of 512 participants from Sonitpur, 224 participants from Biswanath, and 225 participants from Nagaon will perform together at Church Field. Moreover, to facilitate smooth transportation, around 16 buses will be arranged to ferry participants from Sonitpur district’s five LACs to the venue.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer of Sonitpur Zila Parishad Karabi Saikia Karan, Joint Director of Health Services, District Transport Officer, Block Development Officers, Cultural Development Officer, members of the expert committee of Sonitpur District-level Committee, and other concerned officials.
