DHEMAJI: The District Export Promotion Committee (DEPC) meeting took place today in the Conference Hall at the DC Office to finalize the "One District, One Cuisine" initiative for Dhemaji. The meeting was chaired by Kuldeep Hazarika, ACS, Addl. District Commissioner (IND) of Dhemaji.

The attendees included the General Manager (i/c), District Agriculture Officer, Assistant Directors from I&C, Deputy CEO of Zila Parishad, DDM NABARD, District Labour Officer, President of DBS, and a representative from the DTO. The main agenda was to discuss and finalize the local cuisine to represent Dhemaji for the "One District, One Cuisine" campaign.

Last month, a two-day Proper Food Fair began at Chaliha Nagar ground in Tinsukia town on Wednesday to raise awareness about healthy eating habits. The fair was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pabitra Kumar Das, who emphasized the link between eating habits and diseases, stressing the importance of knowing what and how to eat.

The inauguration was attended by Joint Director (Health) Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharya, DIPRO Bikash Sharma, and Assistant Commissioner Bombi Kumari.

The fair featured technical sessions on food safety and the role of small food vendors, led by Mrinmay Chetia from the Tinsukia Agricultural Development Center. Local MLA Sanjay Kishan visited the fair, expressing satisfaction with the event. A cultural program was also held in the evening.
