Dhubri: Dhubri district unit of BJP unit organized citizens’ meet to appraise about the budget in the conference hall of a hotel here in the town on Friday evening.

The meeting was presided over by newly-appointed president of Dhubri District BJP, Ranjit Kumar Ray while chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Dr Debamoy Sanyal briefed the salient features of the budget introduced in the parliament early this month.

“It is an unique budget ever introduced in the history of India covering all issue and addressing all hopes and aspirations of the farmers, industrialist, manufacturers, middle class and commoners,” Dr Sanyal briefed.

Dr. Sanyal also informed that in the budget, 250 new tourism spots were earmarked wherein Assam is expected to have some major share in it. A urea plant to be set at Namrup, further enhancement of railway infrastructure, PM DeVine Scheme and North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme, were some of the visionary schemes included in the budget.

President of State OBC Morcha, Ashwini Roy Sarkar too spoke on the budget and sought the citizens’ positive reaction and suggestion.

Later, BJP Dhubri District Joint Treasurer, Dhanindra Kumar Surana interacted with citizens and replied to their quarries and noted down important suggestions put forwarded by them.

Earlier in the day, a series of events held including an organizational meeting in view of upcoming panchayat election at the Gauripur Public Library.

All the presidents of  11 mandals of Dhubri district, panchayat-level in-charges, and other senior leaders of the district attended the meeting.
