Vice-Chairperson Panwar Leads OIL Meeting in Duliajan, Applauds PM Modi’s Support for Safai Karamcharis

DIBRUGARH: Vice-Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Anjna Panwar visited the Oil India Limited in Duliajan and presided over a significant meeting attended by senior officials of OIL, Safai Karamcharis, and their respective contractors.

During the meeting, Panwar underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of Safai Karamcharis and his deep appreciation for their invaluable contributions to society and the nation. She highlighted the pivotal role played by Safai Karamcharis in advancing the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission and lauded their relentless efforts in maintaining sanitation.

Panwar also commended the comprehensive benefits provided under the Swachh Sewa Samman Scheme, launched under the PM’s leadership, which recognizes the dedication and hard work of Safai Karamcharis. She further emphasized the PM’s heartfelt acknowledgement of their extraordinary sacrifices, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, where they risked their lives to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.

Key issues concerning the well-being and rights of Safai Karamcharis were discussed during the meeting, including timely wage payments, monthly pay slips and deductions, provision of uniforms and identity cards, annual health check-ups, CSR, and other welfare initiatives. Various government schemes aimed at benefitting Safai Karamcharis were also reviewed.

Panwar actively interacted with the Safai Karamcharis, addressing their concerns and assuring them of necessary measures to enhance their quality of life. She reiterated the government’s commitment to their safety, well-being, and professional growth.

Additionally, Panwar attended the exhibition held on the 66th Foundation Day of OIL, showcasing various CSR initiatives and also learning about the operations of OIL. She lauded OIL’s efforts on CSR and appreciated the various projects undertaken.
