DIGBOI: In a significant crackdown, the police authorities conducted a drug control operation in Digboi, where they seized 59.90 grams of drugs together with numerous narcotic tablets.

The operation was jointly led by Dinesh Pratap Singh Rathore as Margherita Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Pinky Bora, who serves as Digboi Police Station Sub-Inspector.

The official agencies acted on their intelligence inputs that led to the operation in central Digboi, where police arrested two suspected drug dealers.

Digboi police took into custody two people who have been identified as Jeetu Sandikoi from Raidangia Naksari, Sonari, and Rana Ghosh from Lachit Nagar, Digboi.

The regional anti-drug trafficking campaign reaches an important milestone after this operation. Authorities have strengthened their mission to break down local drug operations while creating security for local residents.

The two suspects remain under police custody while the authorities continue investigating the entire criminal organization and tracing the wider network involved.

In another separate operation, a team from Nagaon Police, under Jajori Police Station, recovered seven plastic containers containing 1.92 grams of suspected heroin earlier in March.

Meanwhile, based on a tip-off, Panbazar Police Station under the Central Guwahati Police District conducted a search at 2 No. Railway Gate. During the operation, the police caught 21-year-old Puja Deka for allegedly selling heroin. They seized 16 vials of heroin weighing 21.89 grams and a Samsung mobile phone from her.
