GAURISAGAR: Dikhowmukh College organized an awareness on spine health and stroke management and health check-up camp on Saturday in association with Gaurisagar Sakha Jestha Nagarik Sanmilani and in collaboration with Siu Ka Pha Multispeciality Hospital, Rajabari, Sivasagar.
Dr.Surya Prakash, Neurosurgeon and Dr.Mithu Payeng, Medical Office of Siu Ka Pha Hospital took part in the awareness camp and checked up the health of gathering people. Addressing to the people Dr.Surjya Prakash stressed on various symptoms of stoke like sudden unconsciousness, weakness of limbs, slurring of speech, derivation of mouth/facial weakness and imbalance while walking.
Claiming that prevention is preferable to treatment, at least once a year, Dr. Surjya Prakash recommended getting a comprehensive medical examination. Every three months, the closest doctor should be seen for a blood pressure checkup. Dr. Surjya Prakash also discussed the importance of maintaining the health of the spine.
While Rajendra Koiri, the administrative officer of Siu Ka Pha Hospital, highlighted the various medical facilities launched by the hospital authority for the people's health, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Baruah, the principal of Dikhowmukh College, earlier welcomed the medical team of Siu Ka Pha Hospital and the gathering. There were a good number of locals, older residents, and Dikhowmukh College employees, both teaching and non-teaching.
