KOKRAJHAR: In compliance with the directives of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kokrajhar, will organize a National Lok Adalat on December 14. The event will take place at the premises of the District Judiciary, Kokrajhar, and the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court, Gossaigaon.
The Lok Adalat will facilitate the settlement of pre-litigation and pending cases from various courts within the district. Participating institutions include Indian Bank, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, Punjab National Bank, APDCL, and BSNL, among others. A wide range of cases will be taken up, including pending cases from district courts, including MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, NI Act cases, matrimonial disputes, civil cases, and criminal compoundable cases, including M.V. (Motor Vehicle) cases.
The DLSA, Kokrajhar, encourages all stakeholders and litigants to actively participate in the Lok Adalat and avail themselves of the opportunity for an amicable resolution of disputes. This initiative aims to reduce the burden of litigation and promote a culture of harmony and cooperation.
