Assam: Dr Sangrang Brahma appointed secretary of UPPL youth wing

KOKRAJHAR: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Saturday has entrusted Dr. Sangrang Brahma as the secretary of the Youth Wing UPPL through a meeting held at its party head quarter, Kokrajhar. He was the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC Pramod Boro since 2020. He was warmly welcomed by the party.

Talking to media persons, Nominated Member of BTC and political advisor to BTC Chief, Madhav Chandra Chetri said the historic session of Assam Legislative Assembly would be held at BTC Legislative Assembly on February 17. He said he would be a spectacular event for the people of the region as the Governor of Assam Prof. Acharya will address the first day of the state budget session of Assam and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will meet people of various communities, interact with them on their respective issues. He also said there would discussion especially on the issue of 6th schedule councils in the session.

UPPL has given the charge of secretary of the youth wing of the UPPL to Dr. Sangrang Brahma to work with the president Dr. Nilut Swargiary. Swargiary said most of the senior leaders of BPF have deserted the party and joined UPPL in every corner, he said adding that the position of BTC was not good but going down to dark side. He also said the position of UPPL led by Pramod Boro was far better and will come to power with landslide victory.

EM of BTC and president of Youth wing UPPL Dr. Nilut Swargiary said the BPF had lost its balance and their survival is in question. There will be no BPF after 2025 election, he said adding that the UPPL had already carried out door to door survey on their support base and it is clear that no one would be able to form BTR government other than UPPL. He also said many more senior BPF leaders had been in communication with them to join the BPF. The press meet was also taken part by EM Daobaisa Boro, MCLA Mantu Boro and others.
