

LAKHIMPUR: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said good handwriting is still important, even in the digital age. He visited a handwriting training program for teachers at Lakhimpur Town High School. The program, organized by Samagra Shiksha Assam, helps teachers improve their handwriting so they can teach better and help students learn more easily.
The training session had 200 teachers take part, showing the state's dedication to quality education. Minister Pegu praised the program and highlighted that even with progress in AI handwriting recognition, having good handwriting is still important.
"Handwriting and calligraphy are artistic skills with significant value. I am truly impressed by the outcomes of this training session," Pegu stated.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, a ten-day training program on the making of papad, pickle, and masala powder had been held from January 27 to February 5 at the SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) building in Diphu Market, Karbi Anglong, Assam.
The event had been organized by SBI-RSETI, Diphu, as part of the celebrations for the 76th Republic Day, with a focus on women empowerment. A total of 28 women had participated in the training.
On the last day, participants had received certificates for taking part. During the ceremony, the Director of SBI-RSETI, Dasarath Brahma, had explained that the training had been organized to celebrate the 76th Republic Day. He had also shared that SBI ran 153 RSETI centers across India, providing different training programs for women.
