DIBRUGARH: An elderly shopkeeper is fighting for her life at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) after masked assailants stabbed the elderly while she was returning back to her home. The incident occurred at around 11.30 pm last night at Lahowal area in Dibrugarh. The victim has been identified as Keshlata Hazarika.
According to reports, the elderly women after shutting down her shop was returning back to her home, suddenly the masked assailant attacked her with a knife by stabbing her and fled from the scene with her money bag. The women was admitted at AMCH and undergoing treatment.
“The elderly women was returning to her home when the incident occurred yesterday night. We have launched an investigation and very soon, the masked assistant will remain under police custody,” said a police official.
