Assam Election 2021: Goalpara district records 89.39% poll percentage

GOALPARA: The Assam Assembly Election, 2021 concluded in a free and fair way at Goalpara district.
The polling centres which had low poll percentage earlier, showed remarkable increase in polling percentage this time, following targeted SVEEP initiative by the district administration.
In comparison to Lok Sabha election 2019, the poll percentage in 36-Dudhnoi (ST) LAC increased from 85.57 per cent to 87.20 per cent this time, 37- Goalpara East LAC had 87.80 per cent polling, 38-Goalpara West LAC showed increase from 90.18 per cent to 90.51 per cent polling and 39-Jaleswar LAC had 93.44 per cent polling.
The total poll percentage in Goalpara district was 89.39 per cent. Besides, the female poll percentage also increased from 89.27 per cent in 2016 to 90.00 per cent this time.
The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka had taken several innovative steps which had attracted the general people a lot. The IAS officer's efforts were responded positively by the people of Goalpara district.
In Goalpara, four model polling stations were set up - one per LAC - each with a unique theme generating a lot of enthusiasm amongst our voters. These polling stations were themed and decorated in a way that each showcased a unique theme with a message for the voters. The different efforts of the district administration had been praised by the Election Commission also.
