Guwahati: In a major feat that puts up the laurels and pride up the collars of the state, this year when the nation steps up to the 75th year of her freedom, the Independence day celebrations commemoratively honoured the daring feat and the zest and zeal of 3 personnel dedicatedly belonging to the Assam Fire Brigade.

The three personnel from the Assam Fire Brigade were awarded with the most-honourous President's Fire Service Medal.

The Sons of the Soil who brought this glory for the state and that of the people of Assam are Kumud Chandra Gogoi, Tapan Kumar Das and Jatin Chandra Saud.

The state as well as the nation are all glad for the occasion of 75th Independence Day, 2021, 86 personnel have been awarded Fire Service Medals and they were the three bravehearts who did it for Assam and the Nation as a whole.



As per reports, out of these gallantry awards, the Fire Service Medal was awarded to 26 personnel for their respective acts of valour and gallantry.

Interestingly, this year during the 75th Independence Day, President's Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to 10 personnel and Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service is awarded to 50 personnel for their respective distinguished and meritorious records of services. Out of them, Assam played a major role.
