SRIBHUMI: In a major crackdown against illegal immigration, five Bangladeshi nationals were intercepted by the Sribhumi Police in Assam and deported immediately across the international border. The action speaks volumes of the seriousness of the state towards maintaining border security and enforcing the law of immigration.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Iman Miya, Md. Naim Ahmed, Miyazaki Muhammad Rasel, Abdul Kalam Miya, and Md. Munna. Following their arrest, the authorities conducted a rigorous process of verification to ensure adherence to legal requirements before going ahead with their deportation.

Reports indicate that they had entered Indian borders illegally, raising issues on national security. In reaction to this incident, law enforcement organizations have increased surveillance along borders as well as measures to curb other illegal crossings. Authorities have clarified a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal immigration and reiterated that similar actions will always be enforced towards safeguarding national interests.

This crackdown comes in the wake of heightened vigilance along the Indo-Bangladesh border, with the authorities taking a proactive stance to foil attempts at infiltration. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier emphasized the need for continuous monitoring by security personnel deployed along the border to discourage illegal entry. The state's efforts are ongoing to provide safety and security to its borders while upholding immigration laws.
