Guwahati: The Office of the Inspector of Schools (IS), Kamrup (M) District Circle, has issued show-cause notices to five government and provincialized schools in Kamrup (M) for recording a pass percentage of below 25% in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025.

IS Dipika Choudhury stated that the poor results indicate a lack of commitment and possible lapses in school administration and supervision by the respective heads of institutions. The affected schools are Barsojai High School, Maligaon High School, N P M E High School, Pilingkata High School and Dispur Govt H S School.

The IS further noted that the schools have not met expectations, leading to serious concerns and demoralization among the student community.

The principals and headmasters of the concerned institutions have been directed to submit detailed explanations within five days of receiving the notice. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. The result was declared by the Assam State School Education Board Division I (earlier SEBA) on Friday.
