Assam floods: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar contributes Rs 5 crore for the flood victims
Guwahati: In recent progress to the collection of flood relief to tackle with the Assam floods, the Haryana government has announced to have made a contribution of Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. With Assam government, laden with the responsibilities of dealing with the issues of the flood victims and the major damages caused by the flood, this whopping amount of donation contributed by a fellow Indian state will prove as much helpful to flood-ravaged Assam.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced it on Thursday that it is donating Rs 5 crore to the CMRF. Notably, this announcement of flood relief by the Haryana CM has come following the Uttarakhand CM making a donation of Rs 5 crore. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh had previously made an announcement of Rs 5 crore donations to Assam.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal too expressed his gratitude towards the Haryana CM for this generous gesture at a time of distress of the state. He further added that the fellow CM's concern and support give strength to the entire state at a time of this natural calamity.

The generous gesture showed by the Haryana CM is highly appreciated by the people of Assam and the country. however, at the same time, mention may be made of the other contributors who have made a notable sum of donations for the flood victims of Assam which include Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. Akshay Kumar had made a total contribution of 2 Crore rupees, one crore each for the people of the state and for the wild animals of Kaziranga National Park. On the other hand, megastar Amitabh Bachchan had donated Rs 51 lakh for helping the people of the state to rehabilitate and repair the damages caused by the flood ravages.
