Assam Floods: Karan Johar Donates Rs 11 Lakh Towards CM Relief Fund

Top Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and his production house Dharma Productions have donated Rs. 11 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Guwahati: Top Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and his production house Dharma Productions have donated Rs. 11 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) to help people who are ravaged by the catastrophic floods in Assam.

Karan's goodwill gesture of extending a humanitarian hand in times of hardship has touched Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma so much so that the CM took to his official Twitter handle to thank him for the contribution.

The CM also lauded director Rohit Shetty for his initiative of getting the entire Indian film industry together for the cause of the Assam Floods.

With this generous donation, Karan Johar joins the long list of eminent personalities who have contributed to the Assam flood relief efforts, the likes of which include Aamir Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Rohit Shetty, Sonu Nigam and Bhushan Kumar.

Meanwhile, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani had donated Rs 25 crore to Assam Chief Minister Relief Fund to help flood-hit people in the state.

Notably, Assam is experiencing the worst flood which has affected millions of people in 32 districts. Several people have lost their lives while many have been displaced.
