Assam: Former Bokakhat MLA Arun Phukan injured in accident

BOKAKHAT: Former MLA of Bokakhat, Arun Phukan, was injured in an accident on Wednesday at around 3:30 PM at Rojabari Chariali under Bokakhat police station. According to reports, the accident took place when the former MLA, who was riding a scooter, was hit by another bike. As a result of the accident, Phukan sustained a significant injury to his knee. He was immediately taken to VKNRL Hospital, where an X-ray and other necessary examinations were conducted. After providing preliminary treatment, he was allowed to return home, although the injured leg was swollen. According to family sources, arrangements will be made for advanced treatment on Thursday. Arun Phukan had served as the MLA of Bokakhat for one term from 2011 to 2016.
