Assam: Foundation stone of Dikhowmukh College Guest House laid in Sivasagar district

The foundation stone of the proposed guest house of Dikhowmukh College, one of the higher educational institutions of the Greater Dikhowmukh area in Sivasagar district, was laid.

GAURISAGAR: The foundation stone of the proposed guest house of Dikhowmukh College, one of the higher educational institutions of the Greater Dikhowmukh area in Sivasagar district, was laid on Monday.

Veteran educationist, writer Tukheswar Borthakur and Pabitra Kumar Dutta, former principal (i/c) of the college opened the ceremonial function with the lighting of lamp and breaking coconuts. The guest house is being constructed with the financial assistance of the regular development fund of the college, donations from teaching and non teaching staff, former students, and teachers.

In the inaugural function, founder principal of the college Horen Bhuyan, retired principals Dr Lutfun Nahar, Maniram Saikia, retired professors Ananta Dutta, Dr Anup Kumar Baruah, and retired employees of the college were present. The programme was anchored by Dr Ranjit Kumar Baruah, Principal of the college. Besides Sabharam Bharali, retired vice-principal of Dikhowmukh Higher Secondary School, Robin Hazarika, former headmaster of Khanamukh Girls High School, prominent businessmen Devajit Dutta and Jitu Dutta, social worker Bhola Bora, former students Shrimanta Kalita, Jadumani Goswami, Binuwa Taye, Prabin Bhuyan, and others were present.

The college authorities are looking forward to the completion of the guest house with the cooperation of the people in the area.
