Assam: Gargaon College hosts programme on exploring careers in science

SIVASAGAR: Gargaon College, in collaboration with Assam Down Town University, organized a career guidance programme focused on science on Monday. The event aimed to provide students with insights into career opportunities in the field of science.

Resource persons Dr Suraj Chetry, Assistant Professor of Zoology at Assam Down Town University, and Udayan Das, Career Counsellor, shared their expertise with the students. The programme was moderated by Sujata Gowala, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Gargaon College.

Dr Chetry emphasized the importance of exploring non-traditional career paths in science, such as medicine, agriculture, space science, and meteorology. He encouraged students to leverage technology to discover new career fields and stay updated on emerging trends.

The programme was attended by faculty members and a significant number of students from Gargaon College. Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, noted academician and Principal of Gargaon College commended the organizing team for their efforts in fostering collaboration between the two institutions and organizing such a fruitful programme.

This joint initiative by Gargaon College and Assam Down Town University proved to be a success in the direction of providing valuable career guidance and insights to students, empowering them to make informed decisions about their future, Dr Mahanta stated.
