

DISPUR: GNRC Hospitals, Dispur, celebrated International Women’s Day today with a special felicitation ceremony, honoring three distinguished women leaders of Assam and recognizing the unwavering contributions of its dedicated women employees.
As a pioneer in specialty healthcare in Northeast India, GNRC Hospitals has consistently championed excellence in medical care, innovation, and community service.
This year, GNRC Hospitals proudly felicitated Dr. Alaka Goswami, eminent gynecologist of Assam; Ms. Sushmita Goswami, president of Guwahati Press Club; and Ms. Mridusmita Das Bora, noted Sattriya dancer & entrepreneur.
Additionally, GNRC honored its women employees who have dedicated over 25 years of service, including doctors, nurses, and support staff, acknowledging their commitment to patient care and healthcare excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ranju Rani Das, Principal, Asian Institute of Nursing Education, emphasized the crucial role of women in shaping the healthcare sector. She said, “Women have always been the pillars of care and compassion in healthcare. Their resilience and commitment inspire us every day. It is heartening to see GNRC leading the way in recognizing and empowering women in this field.”
Dr. Alaka Goswami, an eminent gynecologist of the region, stated, “Women’s health is not just about medicine; it’s about creating an ecosystem of support, awareness, and accessibility. I am grateful to GNRC for acknowledging the efforts of women in healthcare.”
Ms. Sushmita Goswami, President of Guwahati Press Club, remarked, “Women in every profession bring a unique strength to the table. Platforms like this remind us that recognition fuels progress and motivates us to achieve more.”
Ms. Mridusmita Das Bora, a renowned Sattriya dancer, shared, “Art, like healthcare, is a reflection of society. When we empower women in these fields, we empower generations to come.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Rumi Sarmah, Senior HR Manager, who expressed gratitude to the esteemed guests, dignitaries, media representatives, and the GNRC family for making the celebration a success.
