Assam: Golaghat district committee of SSYCP submits memo to CM

GOLAGHAT: The members of the Golaghat district committee of Schedule Caste Yuba Chatra Parishad (SSYCP) submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam though the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat on Wednesday, opposing the inclusion of the Keot community into SC community.

The organization said that the Assam Government had recently decided to include the Keot community people in the list of Schedule Caste Community. Further, they said that the Keot community known as a general class in Assam is related to agriculture. They also reiterated that they would never allow the inclusion.
