SIVASAGAR: As a part of the Assam Government’s “Development 12 Days” initiative, a formal distribution programme for the schemes “Relief DBT, Seed Capital, and Microfinance Incentive” under the Industry, Revenue, and Finance Departments was held here today. The event took place at the Boarding Field in Sivasagar town, with Assam Minister for Transport, Cooperation, Hill Areas, Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture, Jogen Mohan, attending as the chief guest.
Minister Jogen Mohan emphasized the government’s commitment to uplifting the people of Assam during his speech. He highlighted several government schemes designed to foster rehabilitation, promote financial inclusion, and encourage self-sufficiency among the citizens. The initiative, he noted, aligns with the broader goal of empowering individuals to lead independent and prosperous lives.
Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain, Sivasagar District Commissioner Aayush Garg, Superintendent of Police Subhrajyoti Bora, District Development Commissioner Samiran Bora, and other distinguished dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
During the programme, financial assistance totalling Rs 10,27,93,132 was distributed among 22,913 beneficiaries in the district to aid those affected by natural disasters. Under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme (AMFIRS), 2021, “No Dues Certificates” were issued to 2,845 loan recipients from the district. Additionally, Rs 32,02,300 was distributed among 86 beneficiaries under the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission.
