DHUBRI: Under the initiative of Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital and in collaboration with Dhubri Lions Club, a primary eye care center named ‘Greater Lions Vision Centre, Dhubri’ was formally inaugurated at Dhubri Lions Club on Sunday.
On this occasion, a meeting was held at the Dhubri Lions Club wherein several distinguished personalities including Chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board Dr Debamoy Sanyal, President of Dhubri Lions Club Suresh Kumar Harlalka, and Director of Siliguri Greater Lions Vision Centre Deepak Bajla attended and spoke at a length and praised the initiative for fulfilling the long-felt need of the area.
It has been mentioned from now on, every Monday to Saturday, between 10 am to 4 pm, eye patients will be able to avail services at the Dhubri Lions Club through the Greater Lions Vision Center.
Talking to The Sentinel, president of Dhubri Lions Club Suresh Harlalka informed that here in the centre, computerized eye examination would be done to determine spectacle power. Intraocular pressure test, paediatric eye care, blood sugar and blood pressure test, and retina and glaucoma screening would also be carried out.
Moreover, consultation for cataract, retinal detachment, fibroid, etc. and assistance for surgeries under the guidance of specialist doctors would also be provided, Harlalka added.
Harlalka further said, “For getting all the services, a onetime registration fee of Rs 50 will be charged. In case of cataract operations, patients will be able to receive completely free treatment at the Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital.”
