TANGLA: The No. 1 Harchapara L.P. School in Tangla witnessed a vibrant community participation festival organized by the Purani Tangla Cluster, bringing together students, teachers, parents, and residents in a celebration of education and community engagement on Thursday. The event aimed to foster a collaborative learning environment, emphasizing the need for a balanced and holistic approach to education. Various cultural performances, sports and literary competitions, and multi-diverse cultural rally marked the festival, highlighting the importance of extracurricular activities alongside academics.
The event which was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector of Schools, Bhergaon, Barman Teron witnessed a multi-diverse cultural rally which was flagged off by ADC cum SDO (Civil) Bhergaon, Ringkhang Muchahary. “The key to meaningful education is ensuring a well-rounded approach that nurtures both academic and creative skills,” remarked Muchahary.
Parents also echoed similar sentiments, urging policymakers to integrate more activity-based and experiential learning methods into the school system. During the event, educationists and community members raised concerns about the growing burden of rigid curriculums on young learners. They pointed out that excessive academic pressure often leads to stress, anxiety, and burnout among students, affecting their overall well-being and social interactions. Experts stressed that an unbalanced curriculum widens the gap between students who can cope and those who struggle, making education a burden rather than an opportunity.
