HOJAI: Saurab Gupta, Superintendent of Police, Hojai District, informed in a press meet here today that Hojai Police has successfully arrested a cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Manipur, an unlawful and banned organization under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He said that the name of the arrested individual is Yaikhom Tondonba Singh alias Pibatong, aged 29 years.
The SP said that the arrest was carried out based on credible intelligence inputs and technical surveillance. The operation was executed with precision, ensuring the safe capture of the individual without any collateral damage.
He added that preliminary investigations have revealed that Yaikhom Tondonba Singh is wanted in connection with several terrorist cases. He has been actively involved in insurgent activities, posing a significant threat to national security.
“Following his arrest, central investigative organizations have conducted thorough interrogations. Valuable information regarding his past involvement in insurgent activities and connections within the PLA has been obtained. This intelligence will aid ongoing operations against insurgent networks and contribute to dismantling terror infrastructures,” the SP added. He further said that the security forces remain committed to safeguarding the nation’s integrity and would continue their efforts to neutralize threats posed by unlawful organizations.
