Assam: Incident of Murder Amidst Durga Puja Celebrations Triggers Panic

DOOMDOOMA: Amidst Durga Puja celebrations going on in full swing, the people of a locality in the Tinsukia District of the state leaf the people of region in severe panic about a murder in a tea garden in the district.

The incident took place in a private tea garden in the Krishnapur locality of the Tinsukia district of the state. The locality falls under the Phillobari Police Station of the state. When the rest of the state was busy celebrating the Durga Puja festival, someone had beaten one person to death and dumped the dead body in the garden.

The female victim was identified as Sunia Bhumij and her battered dead body was discovered by the local people on the next morning. The local people have expressed their suspicion that the woman was murdered by her husband Biju Bhumij, and then dumped the body in the garden. Biju Bhumij is also missing, and this raised the suspicions among the local people.

Meanwhile, the local police arrived at the location soon after they were informed about the development. They also expressed their suspicion that murder can be a result of excessive alcohol consumption. Meanwhile, the Phillobari police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.

In a separate development, land and property-related conflicts led to serious fights, which claimed the lives of two people in the Darrang district of Assam. Many more people were injured in this fight and shifted to a hospita. According to local reports, the incident took place in the Janata Nagar locality of Kharupetia. The incident started with a large group of people forcefully trying to lay their claims on a plot of land belonging to the sons of one late Sinaruddin. There is a motor garage in the plot of land on which the gang laid their claims.
