Assam: Infant's Head Spotted In Dibrugarh's PWD Colony
CCTV footage captures a dog carrying the baby's head inside the locality
GUWAHATI: A gruesome episode took place in Assam's Dibrugarh district on 16th January, Monday. A new born baby's head was spotted by a passerby in the Sasanpara PWD Colony.
The incident occurred around 6 am in the morning, when the passersby immediately informed the locals about the same. Furthermore, they checked for the CCTV footage from cameras installed nearby, to find out the source of the event.
Shockingly in the footage, a dog was found bringing the head inside the area, and the locals suspected it to be a head of a girl.
The information was sent to the police department immediately, who later rushed to the spot to recover the head. The person who informed the police about the episode mentioned that, the gender cannot be identified, however, the baby is not more than a month old.
A search operation has been initiated by the concerned department to find the rest of the body parts of the baby.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and an investigation has been laid out to trace down the parents of the deceased baby. The locals are in a state of shock and panic after today's incident.
A similar event was registered last year in Assam's Nalbari district. A newborn baby was spotted lying in the national highway at the Ghograpar region. The baby was suspected to have been abandoned by someone beside the highway.
An investigation was initiated by the Nalbari police department to nab the culprits who left the baby to die on a roadside. After the arrival of police, the newborn was sent to the Nalbari civil hospital for treatment.
A man was arrested on 18th of August, 2022, for selling his newborn daughter to another person for Rs 6000. The episode took place in Assam's Gohpur area. The father sold the infant to a man in Lakhimpur district.
However, the concerned police department, rescued the baby girl in safe health condition.
