
SRIBHUMI: In a major crackdown against illegal infiltration, Sribhumi Police caught two Bangladeshi nationals, Muhida Bibi and Muhammad Kauser, trying to enter Assam illegally. After detaining them and following the required steps, the authorities quickly sent them back across the border.
Assam Chief Minister reacted to the incident on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "No place for illegal infiltrators. We will not allow any illegal infiltrator into Assam." He also reminded everyone of the government's strict policy against illegal immigration and promised that strong actions would keep the state's borders secure.
Meanwhile, Assam Police had successfully apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, on Tuesday for attempting to illegally cross into India near the India-Bangladesh border. The individuals, identified as Hubha S, Mithun S, and Pinki Molla, had been arrested and later pushed back to Bangladesh.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had praised the police for being alert and stopping illegal border crossings. On social media, he had said, "Strict vigilance along the border continues. In an alert move by @assampolice, 3 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended near the border trying to illegally sneak in."
The Chief Minister had also talked about the effectiveness of border security, including the fencing along the India-Bangladesh border, which was nearing completion. CM Sarma had assured that Assam was staying alert to prevent illegal crossings and had expressed concern about possible links between Pakistan’s ISI, terrorist groups in Bangladesh, and local groups in Assam.
