NAGAON: Under the JIVADHARA Programme of the National AYUSH Mission, Assam, Arogya Care Foundation, in collaboration with Batadrava Education Block and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Mission, celebrated the International Day for Persons with Disabilities with great enthusiasm at Dhupaguri Kolonibasti J B School on Tuesday.
The event commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony by Block Elementary Education Officer Jadumoni Chetia, followed by inspiring words from Rajib Mahanta, Headmaster of Batadrava Borheti MKB School, who graced the occasion as the guest. Over 150 specially-abled children participated in a variety of competitions and sports events tailored for them, including Yoga, Art, Football, Badminton, Earth and Water, and Bocce. These events were designed not only to entertain but also to empower the children by fostering self-confidence, coordination, and community spirit. The event also witnessed the presence of Block Resource Person (Inclusive Education) Himan Jyoti Bora, along with Rup Jyoti Kar, Secretary of Arogya Care Foundation, and yoga instructors Trishal Dey and Sumee Choudhury, who played vital roles in organizing and executing the activities.
