KOKRAJHAR: The Department of English, Kokrajhar Government College, in collaboration with the Department of English, Bodoland University, organized a one-day International Seminar on the topic ‘Metaphors in the Discursive Practices of Post Coloniality and Eco-criticism’ on Friday last at Kokrajhar Government College.

The seminar was graced by esteemed scholars and resource persons, including Dr Chong Seng Tong and Dr A Zufrie Rahman from Malaysia, along with Dr J Khartikeyan from Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India. Their insights and scholarly discussions contributed significantly to the academic discourse on postcolonial narratives and ecological criticism.

The event was inaugurated by Prof BL Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor of the Bodoland University, in the esteemed presence of Prof PK Patra, Head of the Department of English, Bodoland University and Dean, Faculty of Languages, Bodoland University, and Dr DD Mwchahary, Principal, Kokrajhar Government College. Their support and encouragement underscored the importance of interdisciplinary discussions in contemporary literary studies.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and scholars from various institutions. Engaging discussions and thought-provoking presentations explored how metaphors shape and reflect the discursive practices in post colonial literature and eco-criticism, highlighting their significance in contemporary research.
