Assam: International Yoga Day observed in Dhubri District

Dhubri:  Along with the rest of the country and state, International Yoga Day was also observed across the Dhubri District on Saturday.

However, prominent among them were the Dhubri District Administration, which organised it at the Dhubri Gurudwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji premises, and the Dhubri unit of Bharat Vikash Parishad, which, in collaboration with Vivekananda Bidyapith High School, organised it at the school, while a similar yoga programme was also held at Bidya Mandir School at Gauripur, organised by the school management committee.

Director of the Bidya Mandir School, Tahrin Begum, inaugurated the yoga day programme with a brief inaugural speech, while the principal of Bidya Mandir School, Sonu Baura Deb Adikary, spoke at length on the importance and various benefits of yoga from budding to old age.

All teaching and non-teaching staff and students took part in the yoga session under the guidance of yoga experts.

DEMOW: Under the patronage of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Demow Mandal, the 11th International Day of “Yoga For One Earth, One Health” was observed in Demow on Saturday. The yoga practice was done on Saturday morning under the guidance of the yoga instructor. Similarly, in the Demow Police Station, the yoga practice was done on Saturday morning.

JORHAT: The NCC Group Headquarters, Jorhat, celebrated International Yoga Day today. with great zeal and fervour at iconic locations across Jorhat, Golaghat and Sivasagar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from cadets.

NCC Officers and PI Staff from all NCC units under the Jorhat Group are to perform a series of yoga asanas and breathing exercises in unison, promoting physical well-being, mental discipline and holistic wellness among all. This year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, emphasized the deep-rooted connection between individual well-being and planetary health. The event culminated in an insightful address by Group Commander NCC Group Headquarters Jorhat, appreciating the enthusiastic participation of cadets and staff. 

Nagaon: The 11th International Day of Yoga was observed with great enthusiasm at the Indoor Stadium of Dhing College today.  The event was organized by Arogya Yoga Kendra, Dhing (a unit of Arogya Care Foundation), in association with the NSS Unit Dhing College, in collaboration with Dhing Municipal Board, BEEO Batadroba, Dhing Police Station, and Healing Hands.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Saurav Kr Das, Circle Officer, Dhing Revenue Circle, marking the formal inauguration of the event. 

The celebration was attended by several distinguished guests, including Biren Kalita, Officer-in-Charge of Dhing PS; Susanta Kumar Nath, Chairperson, Dhing Municipal Board; Dhananjay Talukdar, Programme Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nagaon; Mukut Moni Saikia, Supervisor of NSS Unit, Dhing College; and Professor Gobin Ch Bharali from Dhing College.

Over 150 participants, including students, faculty members, and local residents, took part in the mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Programme Coordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nagaon, Dhananjay Talukder, emphasized the relevance of this year’s IDY theme, “Yoga for one Earth, one Health. He encouraged the youth to embrace yoga as a daily practice for balanced living and social responsibility.  The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Biman Hazarika, Principal of Dhing College, who expressed gratitude to all the collaborating organizations, dignitaries, and volunteers for making the event a grand success. 

The entire event was seamlessly coordinated by Rupjyoti Kar, Secretary of Arogya Yoga Kendra, with dedicated support from the organizing team and student volunteers, stated in a press note received.
