Guwahati: The Assam government has granted permission to mobile theatre artists to conduct stage plays in the state following COVID-19 guidelines.

Speaking with reporters, Assam's health minister Keshab Mahanta said that the state government has granted permission to mobile theatre artists to perform plays in the state.

He also said that artists and members of organizers have to take both the doses of Covid vaccines and the certificate have to submit beofre the administration before performing any plays.

However, he made it clear that they can't performs in containment zones of Covid 19.

"Seating should be arranged keeping in view of the social distance norms inside the auditorium. Hand sanitizer should be provided at the entry or entrance gate. All the audiences have to mandatorily wear a face mask", he said.

He also said that using of masks is compulsory and it have to kept in the entrance of the auditorium so that people who didn't wear masks can wear it.

The minister also informed that after 9 PM no plays shall be allowed and night curfew in clamped due to Covid 19.

The Organizing Committee has to alert the audience regarding the intake of Covid-19 vaccine and about the government COVID protocols.

Earlier, the Cabinet today decided to pay a one-time grant of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of every person who died of the Covid-19 in the state. However, the families drawing salary or pension from the government will not get this grant.

Talking to the media here on Wednesday, IPR Minister Pijush Hazarika said, "We have two schemes for the next of kin of those who died of Covid-19.

We have fix-deposited Rs 7.50 lakh for 25 years in the account of each Covid orphan. The beneficiary can withdraw the amount with interest after 25 years. We have also paid a one-time grant of Rs 2.50 lakh to each Covid-19 widow.

Now, the Cabinet decided to pay a one-time grant of Rs 1 lakh to the next of kin of each people died of Covid-19. The government will pay the amount on October 2, 2021. Till Tuesday, 5,660 people died of the Covid-19 in the state.
