Assam ITI Chosen By Quest Alliance To Develop Green ITIs
As a starter, the non-profit organisation has decided transform three ITIs in the country.

GUWAHATI: Quest Alliance has come with a brand new initiative to develop the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Green ITIs. As a starter, the non-profit organisation has decided transform three ITIs in the country.
The first one to go green is the Government Women's ITI located in Mangalore, Karnataka. The establishment has kicked off earlier this month. Apart from Women's ITI, two other institutions has been chosen by the Quest Alliance including Government ITI in Gujarat's Halol and Government ITI Srikona in Assam's Silchar district.
Quest Alliance will collaborate with the chosen institutes to create Green ITIs. It will be conducted in three levels namely, infrastructure, cognitive and learner vigilance for green careers.
The infrastructural level will revolve around transforming the institute into an environment-friendly campus while attempting to make the ITIs carbon free. Quest Alliance will also put forward a customised plan for the same.
The green plan will focus on rainwater harvesting, solar power, waste management and sustainable gardening. At the cognitive level, students will extract green solutions to manage the local issues.
The project will allow students to develop a eco-friendly mindset with the help several programs such as- workshops, sensitisation programmes and hackathons. Furthermore, students of green ITIs will be ready for green careers.
Lectures and talks will give the students a good amount of knowledge regarding the latest trends and challenges emerging in the green sector. The students will be benefitted with internship opportunities, career guidance and placement through Industry involvement tasks.
The CEO of Quest Alliance, Aakash Sethi highlights the importance of green careers for the students. Mostly, the students of ITIs get engaged in the traditional based industries but in reality green industry is the emerging industry.
Youths in ITIs along with skills should accumulate a mindset that will assist them well in choosing the right career path and bring a change in the society, added the CEO. The prime motive of Quest Alliance to bring in this new initiative is to help the learners step ahead in the green industry.
