Assam Jatiya Parishad president Lurinjyoti Gogoi's mother passes away

DIBRUGARH: A vast sea of humanity paid rich tribute to Dulu Gogoi, mother of Lurinjyoti Gogoi, former All Assam Students' Union (AASU) general secretary and president of Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) at their residence at Borlaipuli, Moran Kari gaon near Tinsukia on Thursday.

A pious lady and revered by all, Dulu Gogoi passed away due to cardiac arrest on Wednesday night at a private nursing home in Dibrugarh where she was admitted on Monday. No sooner did the news of her death spread in Tinsukia, hundreds of people thronged her residence. Among them were AASU president Dipankar Kr Nath and general secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah. She leaves behind her husband and only son Lurinjyoti Gogoi.
