Tezpur: Under the initiative of the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Sonitpur District Branch, and in collaboration with Udalguri, Biswanath, and Darrang districts, a job fair under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) was held at Jaymati Field, Tezpur. The event was inaugurated by Ankur Bharali, District Commissioner of Sonitpur.
The job fair saw the esteemed presence of the MLA of Tezpur Constituency, Prithiraj Rava, Chief Executive Officer of Sonitpur Zilla Parishad, and others. Several staff members from the four collaborating districts also attended the event.
A total of 839 job-seeking youth participated in the fair, which featured representatives from 26 companies. Notably, some out-of-state companies conducted interviews via videoconferencing. By the end of the event, 258 candidates received appointment letters.
The appointment letters were distributed by the Tezpur MLA, Prithiraj Rava, alongside the State Project Manager of ASRLM and the Sonitpur District Project Manager.
The event marked a significant step in bridging the gap between job seekers and potential employers, emphasizing the importance of skill development and employment under DDU-GKY.
