Assam: Kaliyani Sakha Sahitya Sabha holds 15th biennial conference in Golaghat

NUMALIGARH: The 15th biennial conference of the Kaliyani Sakha Sahitya Sabha, under the Marangi Mouza in Golaghat district, was successfully held at the Numaligarh Nagarik Unnayan Manch’s conference hall yesterday. The event, which took place throughout the day, featured various programmes and ceremonies.

The conference began with the hoisting of the flag by outgoing president Titaram Das, followed by the lighting of the lamp by former vice-president Jayakanta Hazarika. Advisor Banikanta Phukan also paid tribute to the departed souls. Later in the day, an open session was organized under the chairmanship of newly-elected President Neelakanta Bora. The meeting was inaugurated by Arup Kumar Duwara, President of Doigrung Sakha Sahitya Sabha, and the welcome speech was delivered by outgoing Secretary Ruhit Hazarika. Notably, the meeting began with a welcome song presented by the Jagriti Lekhika Samaroh Samiti.
