KHERONI: The District Administration of Karbi Anglong organized the ‘Tiranga Mahotsav’ as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, aimed at igniting patriotism and fostering national pride among citizens. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including a dynamic bike rally and the inauguration of a Tiranga Stall, celebrating India’s unity and rich heritage.

The festivities were graced by Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), as the chief guest. He was joined by KAAC Chairman Raju Tisso, MLA Bidya Sing Engleng (Diphu LAC), KAAC Deputy Speaker Avijit Kro, District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, ACS, Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Kumar Saikia, APS, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.

The day began with a vibrant bike rally at 6:00 AM, flagged off by CEM Ronghang from Singmirjeng Achtai. The rally, with over 30 enthusiastic bikers proudly carrying the national flag, traversed through Taralangso, Disama, Hidim Teron Gaon, and Maya, with a brief refreshment halt, before concluding at KASA stadium. The event symbolized unity and patriotism, spreading the campaign’s message across the district.

In the afternoon, MLA Bidyasing Engleng (Diphu) inaugurated a Tiranga Stall at Amrit Udyaan-cum-Yoga Park, near Circuit House, Diphu. Organized by the Handloom and Textiles Department, KAAC, the stall offers national flags for public purchase, encouraging community participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The inaugural event was attended by MAC, KAAC Johny Timung, District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, and other dignitaries.
