KARBI ANGLONG: In a significant move, Karbi Anglong Chief Executive Member (CEM) Dr Tuliram Ronghang has appointed Khorsing Teron, one of the district's most respected intellectuals and cultural figures, to his advisory team.

The appointment of Teron, renowned for his deep scholarship and articulate advocacy on Karbi history, culture, and political rights, is being characterised by political observers as a potential "game-changer" for the Ronghang administration. His inclusion brings a formidable voice known for both intellectual rigour and a profound connection to grassroots Karbi society.

"Khorsing Teron is not merely an academic; he is a first-class intellectual whose understanding of Karbi identity, aspirations, and challenges is unparalleled," remarked a senior leader. "Having his insights and counsel directly informing the CEM's office adds a crucial dimension to governance in Karbi Anglong," the senior leader added.

"Teron's strong, principled stand on statehood and border protection is well-known and deeply respected," noted a political analyst based in Diphu. "His presence in the CEM's inner advisory circle suggests these issues may receive a fresh impetus and a potentially new strategic direction. It lends considerable credibility to the administration's approach on these fronts."

The inclusion of a figure of Teron's stature is interpreted as Dr Ronghang strengthening the intellectual foundation of his leadership, particularly on core issues affecting Karbi identity and autonomy.
