Morigaon: Morigaon District Agriculture Department in collaboration with the district administration and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) has organized a two-day Krishak Mela 2025 with an aim to inspire farmers in the premises of the office on March 11 which concluded on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by the chairman of MMB Jogesh Tamuly in presence of the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad (CEO) Sanjeev Kumar Bora and Additional District Commissioner (Agriculture) Anusuya Sharma.
An interaction session was held on the occasion of the event which was moderated by the District Agriculture Officer Ashok Kumar Sharma. Assistant Inspector of Agriculture Dibyajyoti Hazarika hosted the programme. The event focused on the development of the farmers in agricultural sector and its problem and solutions, various schemes implemented by the agriculture department, increasing farmers’ income and production.
The Krishak Mela includes exhibition of agricultural and horticultural crops, exhibition of quality products produced by various departments, seminars on technical topics, exhibition of modern agricultural machinery, training of farmers, distribution of seeds etc. The fair also featured 25 shops with products produced by various departments. Altogether 12 food security groups received Rs 10,000 each under ATMA scheme. As part of the first day of the Krishak Mela, an interaction session was held on value edition of mushroom, scientific production of vermicompost today. The programme included an exchange of views on value addition of fruits and technical training on fruit cultivation by scientists of the Center of Agricultural Science. The inaugural ceremony was attended by co-ordinator of Agricultural Science Center, Morigaon Dr. Rijusmita Sharma, Heads of Associate Departments, officers and employees of Agriculture Department.
