Assam: KSYC Diphu Regional Committee Restructured for 2025–2027 Term

DIPHU: The Karbi Students' & Youth Council (KSYC), Diphu Regional Committee, has officially restructured its Central Executive Council for the 2025–2027 session. The reshuffle was announced following a thorough discussion held during a formal session chaired by Sanjay Timung, president of the KSYC Central Committee.

The meeting was attended by several senior leaders of the KSYC Central Committee, including Secretary General Longsodar Engleng, Vice Presidents Rongkim Terang and Albert Engti, Assistant General Secretaries Rukason Phangcho and Debising Ronghang, Assistant Finance Secretary Angtong Rongpi, and Media & Publicity Secretary Juel Terang. The gathering also welcomed members of the Diphu Regional Committee.

As a result of the discussions, Sanjay Timung—sharing the same name as the KSYC CC President—was appointed as the new president of the Diphu Regional Committee. Rupesh Timung was selected as general secretary, while 20 other members were inducted into various posts within the regional body.

In a brief interaction with the media, newly appointed regional president Sanjay Timung pledged to uphold the vision of the organization. “KSYC will always stand by the people's struggle in Karbi Anglong and beyond,” he said, emphasizing continued youth activism and unity.

Meanwhile, former BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary and Working President of the Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) DD Narzary on Monday extended their profound gratitude to the first Bodo women martyrs of the Bodoland Movement, Gaide Basumatary and Helena Basumatary.
